The role of ASHRAE’s Membership Promotion (MP) Committee is to drive the recruitment of new members, support the retention of existing ones, and promote the society’s scientific and educational goals. The committee builds industry engagement by helping professionals maximize their ASHRAE Member Benefits and connect with local chapters.
Committee members also serve as the frontline welcoming committee for new participants. They organize networking events, run membership drives, and manage specialized programs like the ASHRAE Special Membership Programs for developing economies.
Attracting active professionals, students, and diverse individuals from all segments of the HVAC&R industry to join the Society.
Keeping current members engaged by monitoring delinquencies, reducing cancellations, and clearly communicating the continuous value of ASHRAE membership.
Encouraging eligible members to upgrade their membership status (e.g., from Associate to Member) as their career and qualifications grow.
Celebrating new members, newly advanced members, and the employers who support local chapter involvement during meetings and events.
