Promoting an inclusive HVAC&R community by welcoming diverse backgrounds and ensuring equitable opportunities for every chapter member.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is dedicated to raising awareness of diversity and inclusion at the grassroots chapter level. By fostering locally the Society’s overarching commitment to a diverse and inclusive membership, the committee ensures that all individuals are welcomed, respected, and valued. Through collaborative programming and intentional outreach, the committee works to create an inclusive environment that reflects the communities it serves and provides a supportive network for professional growth.

Core Responsibilites:

The committee works directly with the Membership Promotion (MP), Student Activities, and Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) Committees to attract and retain a diverse roster of members who truly represent the local community.
In coordination with the Chapter Technology Transfer Committee (CTTC), the DEI Committee provides specialized programs and organizes activities designed to attract and retain diverse professionals from all segments of the industry.
The committee is responsible for promoting inclusion across the chapter, ensuring that all volunteers benefit from a diverse, welcoming, and equitable experience.
The committee actively creates and nurtures a supportive network within the chapter to foster professional development, advancement, and growth for all members.
The committee builds and strengthens diversity awareness and cultural sensitivity among chapter leadership and the general membership.
