The cooling towers at the University of Regina Central Heating and Cooling Plant were recently replaced by Marquardt Mechanical. Jared Larson, the lead mechanical engineer on the project, will provide a presentation and tour of the centralized cooling plant and new cooling towers that serve the University of Regina Central Plant.
Presenter Bio: Jared Larson is a principal mechanical engineer at MacPherson Engineering Inc. with twenty eight years of experience and holds permission to consult through APEGS and APEGA. He has extensive experience in the design and commissioning of mechanical systems for buildings. His responsibilities have encompassed conceptual studies through to construction document production, provision of services during construction and systems commissioning for projects including residential, commercial and institutional . He has volunteered with ASHRAE at the local Regina chapter, served as student activities regional Vice chair for student activities and chaired the student activities committee in 2022. He also served several years as a Sessional Lab Instructor for the ISE ENIN 463 class. (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Systems) at the University of Regina. He currently lives in saskatoon where he serves on the ASHRAE Saskatoon Chapter Board of governors, and as a Student Branch Advisor for the USask Student Branch. During this time he has received several awards from ASHRAE recognizing the progress made through the overwhelming support of the local HVAC industry.
