The Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) Committee is a mandatory standing chapter committee appointed by the President-Elect. Each committee member must qualify as a Young Engineer in ASHRAE at the start of their term, and the Committee Chair is expected to attend the dedicated YEA workshop at the Chapters Regional Conference (CRC). The committee focuses on engaging young professionals and developing the future grassroots leadership of the Society and the HVAC&R industry.
Core Responsibilites:
Attracting Young Professionals`
Focuses on finding and recruiting new Young Engineers in ASHRAE who will actively participate and contribute at both the local chapter level and the broader Society level.
Encouraging Industry-Wide Representation
Works strategically to encourage membership and active involvement from all various segments of the HVAC&R industry, ensuring diverse professional representation.
Organizing Targeted Activities
Plans, coordinates, and executes specific events and activities tailored to the unique networking, personal development, and professional needs of younger members to assist in attracting and retaining them.
Facilitating Student-to-Associate Transfers
Collaborates closely with the Student Activities Committee to streamline, support, and encourage graduating student members to seamlessly transfer into standard professional YEA membership grades.
