ASHRAE Regina Chapter recently hosted their first chapter meeting of the year at the University of Regina. The meeting featured a presentation and a guided tour of the newly renovated cooling plant. Jared Larson (mechanical engineer, MacPherson Engineering) presented an overview of the project covering the scope of the renovation, key equipment upgrades, and the design considerations that went into modernizing the facility.
Also in attendance were Carol Reyda (project manager, University of Regina) and Justin Henderson (mechanical contractor, Marquardt Mechanical), who offered valuable perspective from the owner and construction sides of the project.
Following the presentation, members toured the plant firsthand, getting an up-close look at the new chillers, pumps, heat exchanger, and infrastructure improvements. The tour sparked great discussion among attendees about lessons learned and best practices from the project.
Thanks to Jared, Carol, and Justin, and to everyone who came out for a great evening of learning and networking.
