ASHRAE Regina Chapter Scholarships
Supporting the Future of HVAC&R
The ASHREA Regina Chapter is proud to support the next generation of engineers through its scholarship program. Each year in October, the Chapter awards two scholarships worth $1,500 USD to deserving students pursuing a career in the HVAC&R industry. These awards reflect the Chapter’s commitment to education, professional development, and advancing the future of building science in Saskatchewan.

Don Bell Memorial Scholarship
(August 17, 1931 - October 30, 2015)
Established in 2020, this scholarship was set up in Don Bell’s name by the Regina Chapter of ASHRAE. It is intended to provide financial aid to students pursuing a career in the HVAC&R industry. It is open to students pursuing HVAC related courses in Polytech institutions, and trade courses related to HVAC&R.
Don was the proud and passionate owner of Insulation Applicators Ltd., a successful business of 61 years as well as System Scaffolding Inc., both now owned and operated by four of his sons. Donald gave back to his industry serving on numerous boards and organizations to improve the standards and recognition of the insulation trade in Saskatchewan and Canada. He was the first business agent in Local 110 Insulators Union in Edmonton, a leader and participant in RCA, SCSA, ASHRAE, TIAC, SICA, Sask Labour Board, Pension and Health, and Welfare Funds.

Grant Dawson Memorial Scholarship
(May 4, 1960 - June 8, 2021)
Established in 2024, this scholarship was set up in Grant Dawson’s name by the Regina Chapter of ASHRAE. It is intended to provide financial aid to students pursuing a career in the Engineering or HVAC industry. It is open to students pursuing Undergraduate or Graduate engineering degrees.
